People around the world use social media to connect. There's a power in connection. There's something amazing about groups of strangers becoming unified virtually overnight. I am grateful for the positive influence that social media has had for me.
Here's the videos I used in class during my "social media" presentation.
Recorder of John Legend "All of Me"
Ripple Song from around the world.
Mom fighting for son with Down Syndrome
When my wife and I found out that our son had Down Syndrome we had no idea what to expect. We reached out to those that were in similar situations and social media became a place to share ideas, find help, and alleviate our fears.
Social media is a place for the everyday person and the not-so-everyday person to find acceptance.

My daughter taught me a lot about the power of social media for good when she asked me to help her put a video together. I was reluctant because she wanted to record a song. Sydney is deaf and I didn't want her to get hurt but I went along. She gave me the text of what she wanted to say and asked me to help her make the following video.
Sydney's video of "Glorious" by David Archuleta
Because of her courage to reach outside herself and something challenging I was able to be a part of her impact on thousands of people. Their comments of inspiration and thanks are awesome.
There's nothing better than using a tool like social media for the good of others so I encourage you to focus your energies on making an awesome video for your final that will have an effect.
Good Luck.
