Media Productions Midterm Test

Directions:
Follow the directions closely.  You should have your cable to upload from your device.

1. Open your blog and start a new post.

2. Make a numbered list from 1 to 17 then wait patiently.

3. Take a selfie and upload it as the answer to Question # 18.  


4.  Video yourself showing how to use the following tools IN PHOTOSHOP.  DEMONSTRATE what they do and EXPLAIN what they are used for.    

  • Move Tool
  • Magic Wand tool
  • Paintbrush tool
  • Paint Bucket Tool
  • Text Tool
  • Shape Tool (Rectangle Tool)
  • Set Foreground and Background colors
5.  Bring the video into Premier and edit as needed

6.  Export the video as a .AVI and load it onto Youtube.  (Ask for help if you aren't sure how to load it.)

7.  Copy and Paste the Youtube link as the answer to Question # 19. 


8.  Video yourself carrying out the following actions IN PHOTOSHOP:
  • Switch between the foreground and background color
  • Create and Use a Mask
  • Move layers in the layer Palette
  • Explain what it means to Rasterize a layer.  Show how to rasterize a text layer.
  • Select an area using the Marquee tool
  • Change the size of a layer (scale)
  • Rotate a layer
  • Change the font, color, and size of text.
  • Show how to reset your workspace.
  • Know the difference between a PSD file and a JPEG file. 
9.  Bring the video into Premier and edit as needed.

10.  Export the video as a .AVI and load it onto Youtube.  (Ask for help if you aren't sure how to load it.)

11.  Copy and Paste the Youtube link as the answer to Question # 20.    

12.  Video yourself carrying out the following actions IN PREMIERE: 

  • Start a new project using the correct settings: (1080p, 30)
  • Explain what a sequence is.  Start a second sequence in your project. 
  • Import an image.  
  • Use the razor tool to edit a clip. 
  • Insert a video transition between two clips.  
  • Insert an audio transition at the end of an audio clip. 
  • Use the Ultra Key to remove a color (Green Screen)
  • Show how to reset your workspace.
  • Import a Photoshop document as individual layers.
  • Create a Title (Text)
  • Edit a title once it is in your timeline.
  • Take a Photoshop document that is in the timeline and edit it in Photoshop.
  • Show how to export only video
  • Show how to export only audio
  • Explain what an anchor point is and demonstrate how to make an image rotate around it.
13.  Bring the video into Premier and edit as needed.

14.  Export the video as a .AVI and load it onto Youtube.  (Ask for help if you aren't sure how to load it.)

15.  Copy and Paste the Youtube link as the answer to Question #21.   

16.  Video yourself carrying out the following actions IN AFTER EFFECTS.
  • Import footage
  • Create a text layer and use the Type tool to type your name.  
  • Create a 3D text layer. (ray-traced)
  • Show where the extrusion depth setting is.
  • Add a light layer and demonstrate how to manipulate (move) it. 
  • Show how to move the text on the Y, X, and Z axis. 
  • Explain what a keyframe is and how it works. Demonstrate how to use a keyframe to move an object across the screen as the movie plays.    
  • Show how to use keyframes to change the opacity of a layer.  

17. Bring the video into Premier and edit as needed.

18.  Export the video as a .AVI and load it onto Youtube.  (Ask for help if you aren't sure how to load it.)

19.  Copy and Paste the Youtube link as the answer to Question #22.
