In the Real World: Apply your Survey Knowledge with a Business

Now that you've turned in your preliminary survey that we made for class it's time to take your skills and apply them in the real world. 

Your Assignment
STEP 1:
Find a business that you are interested in.  Start a document in word and gather the following information.
  1. WHAT IS YOUR NAME?
  2. What is the business's name you want to visit? 
  3. What is the managers name?  
  4. What is their website?  
  5. What is the physical address of their store?  
  6. What do they sell?  What is the service they provide?  
  7. What are two questions you might ask the manager when you visit the store? 
Once you've compiled your answers, PRINT them out and hand them in to Mr. Larsen

STEP 2: 
Prepare a script of what you might say when you visit the store and practice that script until you feel comfortable and prepared. 
Post your script to your BLOG. 

STEP 3: 
Visit the business and meet with the manager.  Plan a marketing project you can do for them. 

STEP 4:
Carry out your project. 

STEP 5:
Report your findings to the manager with your recommendations. 

STEP 6: 
Ask the Manager to sign the Verification Sheet. 

STEP 7:
For full credit on the assignment turn in :
  • a copy of the report you gave the manager
  • the Verification Sheet
  • a summary of your project

Answer the following questions in your summary.  
  1. What did you do for the business?  Describe your project.  
  2. What was the best part of the project?  
  3. What was the most difficult?
  4. What part of the project are you the most proud of?  
  5. What did you learn from the project?  
  6. What skill did you develop or gain from the project?
