Time for Finals 2015

Your final project is an opportunity to put your skills on display.  You will walk away with a DVD that you can take home and show the family.
How will the Final be graded?
You will use Encore to display a demonstration of your expertise in the programs and creative principles we learned during class this year.  You may demonstrate that expertise in a number of different ways but, with 20 hours available to do the work, it should be refined and look professional.
The rubric can be found below that gives a general outline.  However, to sum up the process, my role as the teacher is to evaluate your use of class time, take into account time spent outside of class, evaluate your demonstration of your expertise and give you a grade based on all of those factors.  I will watch your presentation at your workstation during the week of finals.  After reviewing your project, I take into account your participation in class, the extras you’ve done for the announcements, school activities, personal projects and give you a grade.  I’d refer you to the syllabus for the grading scale.
What should be in the final?
Your final must include:
  • Your name and picture that plays as an intro to the DVD.
  • A reflection of your experience from the year that plays as a movie.
  • Images and videos that represent a portfolio of what you learned throughout the year.  Attach your projects to buttons on a menu (it may take more than one menu).
  • An original movie that demonstrates your ability to tell a story, use the video editing software, and the special effects programs we've introduced throughout the year.
  • The DVD buttons must all work.
There are so many things that can be added to the project to demonstrate expertise that I can't outline all of them here but I will be checking on your projects periodically.  If you have questions about what to add, check with me.

The reflection1 minute in length.
The reflection is a 1 minute video or audio recording that is placed on a timeline and linked to a button on the main menu.

The reflection is an opportunity to “show and tell” me what you learned during class. You may use words, audio, pictures and other media to communicate what you've learned.   You may choose to reflect on projects that challenged you or that you felt you were successful with.  Tell me experiences you've had that helped you grow as a student.
The portfolio:
This project is a portfolio.  You may link your images, video’s, and other media you’ve created to buttons in the menus for me to review and for others to see.

Remember, every day is an evaluation of personal responsibility so stay busy with the assignment and constantly look for ways to add value to your work.  When you think you're done have me check it to give you feedback.
Good Luck! I look forward to seeing your work.
Mr. L
